Internships
At PIBS, we offer the opportunity for Bachelor and Master students to complete their internships, where you can receive a rich experience in an institute with amazing resources (both physical and staff). Our staff include both those in-house who are specialized in various areas and can mentor in areas ranging from biodiversity conservation to environmental issues to human rights. We have well equipped labs (including advanced molecular labs, animal and plant facilities such as herbarium), comfortable workspace, and housing accommodations for students from abroad (room and board offered to those who do not have funding to cover these).
Interns acquire practical research experience, working alongside our diverse team members in research areas such as biodiversity of flora or fauna of Palestine, Ecology, Agriculture, and Climate Change. Interns network with various researchers and laboratories throughout universities in Palestine and beyond, increasing their knowledge and helping them in future careers.
At PIBS, we encourage our interns to publish research done during their time at the biodiversity center. For example we had one international intern who published on fungi and another who published a paper on Orchids of Palestine as a result of their limited time here (these were published in peer reviewed journals). Interns also enjoy a new culture improving their communication skills, and through our ongoing continuing education workshops, advance their careers.
